In July 2016, Milapfest curated and produced an exciting new festival in London in Partnership with The Bhavan. Yuva Mahotsav celebrated the next generation of classical artists.

Friday 15th July saw Mohanapriyan Thavarajah, Dakshina Vaidyanathan and Nehha Bhatnagar take to the stage in a beautiful showcase of Bharatanatyam dance. Saturday saw two performances take place – in the afternoon we held an excitng showcase of two rare Indian dance forms, Odissi and Kuchipudi, by dancers Irina Kommisarova and Prateeksha Kashi whilst our evening showcase consisted of a stunning Bansuri flute performance by Flute Jayanth, who was joined on stage by violnist HN Bhaskar and Mridangam maestro Neyveli Venkatesh. The festival came to an amazing conclusion on Sunday 17th July, once again with two thrilling performances. Our afternoon showcase double-bill comprised of Hindustani vocalist Prabhat Rao performing alongside Kousic Sen on the Tabla and Rekesh Chauhan on the Harmonium. Our evening performance saw the talented violinist sisters Ragini and Nandini Shankar perform alongside Kousic Sen.

New generations of Indian arts performers are setting the standards around the world with their talent, virtuosity and ideas in classical music and dance. Yuva Mahotsav celebrated the best artists of Indian and Britain in London and featured an array of popular performers and rising stars.
