What is the biggest influence on your music? My Guru and her contemporaries – the belief I can play like them whilst bringing my own ideas to the table one day really inspires me; As a kid – music of AR Rahman made me love and enjoy music
How did your Milap journey start? Samyo Audition, Spring 2012
What is your proudest musical achievement to date? Rendering the RTP at my Arangetram; Leading Samyo at my final concert as Orchestra Leader at the QEH
I became a musician because… When watching artists who have inspired me, the energy I see when they bounce off each other, and the fact that I want to emulate their ability

Who are your favourite artists? Veenai Jayanthi, Lalgudi Jayaraman, TM Krishna, Akkarai Sisters, Ganesh Kumaresh, Abhishek Raghuram, Sid Sriram, AR Rahman, Anoushka Shankar, Shankar Mahadevan, John Legend, The Weeknd – just a main few of many!
If I could make my artistic dream come true I would… A packed domestic and international tour with Tarang! Individually, perform at reputed venues around the world, working with world class and legendary artists

The thing I like most about being a Tarang member is… The friendships and musical conversations. There’s an amazing vibe, created by the fact each of us want to improve & succeed
The thing I am most excited about as a Tarang member is… Touring! It would be amazing to share the innovative music we’ve worked hard nationally & internationally – as well as all the fun & memories we’ll treasure
