Saravanan Karunanithy
Saravanan is a senior Mridanga disciple of Sri A Somasundara Desigar and has had the privilege of undertaking advance training in the art from Mridanga maestro Guru Sri Kaaraikkudi R Mani (founder of Sruthi Laya Kendra).
In 2004 he completed his diploma in Mridangam from the Oriental Fine Arts Academy London (OFAAL) attaining the title ‘Mridanga Kalajothy’ and subsequently staged his Mridanga Arangetram. He has accompanied many leading Carnatic musicians. Saravanan is also a keen Carnatic vocalist and can play a variety of percussion instruments.
