Mithila Sarma
Mithila began learning the Veena at the age of eight under the tutelage of Smt. Malini Thanabalasingham. She joined Samyo in 2003 and has been a member ever since! As a member of Tarang, she has had the opportunity to train with world-renowned veena artiste Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh. She was Orchestra Leader and Mentor for Tarang from 2013-2014 and has toured across the country with Tarang performing in many prestigious venues. Outside of Tarang, she continues to perform with various groups and is part of a band called Project 12 which explores Indian Classical music in a contemporary setting.
Outside of music, her academic interests have led her to gaining a Masters in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and currently works at the Youth Service in Essex County Council.
