Principal Supporters

We gratefully acknowledge the support of our principal supporters and funders, who enable us to invest our time and efforts into making a difference to people’s lives.

Milapfest is part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Programme, which consists of a rich variety of organisations across England, reflecting the quality and excellence of the arts in England and shaped by the five shared goals set out the strategic framework. Many of Milapfest’s key initiatives are supported by ACE, including Tarang, our main performance programme, and professional development work for Artists.

“Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives.
We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. Great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better. “ From www.artscouncil.org.uk.

Milapfest is supported by funding from Liverpol City Council’s Arts and Culture Investment Programme (ACIP).
“ACIP supports Liverpool’s economy by providing an independent and distinct cultural offer that provides real authenticity and a strong sense of identity to the Liverpool brand.  The quality of artistic activity has achieved (and needs to maintain) an international standard which enables it to compete with other cities.

The ACIP scheme has had a major positive impact on the City, and has contributed to a vibrant cultural offer, particularly in terms of visitor numbers, leveraged funding and community participation.” From Liverpool City Council www.liverpool.gov.uk

This initiative supports 5 ways to Wellbeing and 2020 the Decade of Health and Wellbeing is about encouraging people to build these ways into their daily routines and potentially add 7.5 years to their life expectancy. The underlying message through the five ways is that mental health and wellbeing is as important as physical health; feeling good is an important part of being healthy.

Milapfest is supported as a partner of the 2020 Decade of Health and Wellbeing, and many of our major programmes in Liverpool, including Music for the Mind & Soul and Artschool, contribute to healthier lifestyles for our community. http://www.2020healthandwellbeing.org.uk.
