Welcome to Arts School
AUTUMN 2020 UPDATE

Due to the extension of the Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, we will continue to conduct our Arts School classes for the Autumn 2020 term online.

Milapfest’s Arts School is a weekly programme of courses offered at Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus. There are currently seven programmes on offer, many of which are offered in a variety of levels, or are separate classes for either adults or children. The Arts School is open to students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Courses currently available at Milapfest Arts School:

NEW SHORT COURSES FOR AUTUMN 2020 TERM ( 5 weeks)

  • Indian Folk Fitness
  • Bollywood Dance
  • Ghazals & Bollywood Songs (vocal)

REGULAR FULL-TERM COURSES

  • Bharatanatayam
  • Kathak
  • Carnatic Vocal
  • Violin
  • Hindustani Vocal

Each course follows a syllabus and regular learning plan that had been collaboratively designed by the course teachers and Milapfest’s Education Department. The curriculum covers  practice, performance, and theory. Tutors at Arts School are all trained musicians and dancers, many of whom are performing artists in their own right. Milapfest currently offers ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) examinations in Bharatanatyam, and has strong ties with CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) with several Arts School students now attending CAT training programmes regularly. We also offer Prayag Sangeet Samity and OFFAL examinations. Please contact our Arts School Coordinator for more details on syllabuses and examinations at artsschool@milap.co.uk

The programme normally runs at Liverpool Hope University at the Cornerstone Building of Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus, but as mentioned above we are currently conducting all lessons online.

Please see our timetable for class information.
